AKC PUPPY S.T.A.R.

We strongly recommend this class if you plan to move to the next level of training or plan to be involved with therapy, service, agility or any other type of specialized situations with you new companion!

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This is a AKC sponsored program; for more information about the training, test items and the pledge visit AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy website. This class uses AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy guidelines and a test will be conducted by an AKC approved evaluator on the last day of class. Once your puppy has passed the test, pet parents can submit the paperwork and receive their certificate from AKC.
Taking this course will help your puppy develop manners so when at the dog park and in public he is well behaved, easy to handle and kept safe. Your pet will learn to allow others to handle and walk them and walk on a leash in straight line. You will also learn the Sit, Down and Recall (comes when called) commands. This class will also advance to a recall from 5 feet, and your pet will learn to do these with a distraction.
RECOMMENDED AGE: For puppies 4 months to under one year of age
CLASS SPECIFICS: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks ~ Cost is $125
Deposit of 50% due with registration form
and balance due on 1st night of class.Minimum class size is 3, Maximum 6-8

CLASSES ARE HELD ON MONDAYS at 6:30 pm, check our calendar or call us for next start dates.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:proof from vet of all age-appropriate vaccinations.Recommend Bordatella (kennel cough).
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Flat Buckle or Martingale-Type Collar, 6 Foot Leash, Yummy Training Treats (we recommend Zukes Mini-Naturals) and a Brush.
